How to become a FLOWN host

What is FLOWN?

We are a curated collection of inspiring homes and hotels that individuals and teams can think and work from in an ergonomic and focused way.

Even before COVID, people needed places to escape distraction-filled offices. Post-COVID, companies are open to their employees working remotely, so the need for creative and ergonomic locations to do so is greater than ever.

FLOWN is a new startup by serial entrepreneur Alicia Navarro, backed by some of the most well-known founders and investors in the UK. 

Is my property a FLOWN fit?

We are looking for spaces which will inspire our members to do their best work, or think their best thoughts. 

Each FLOWN space will be:

  • in a beautiful natural setting (or with an inspiring aspect) 
  • optimised for at least one FLOWN trip purpose:
    • For desk work, the space must have a beautiful place with a view to work from
    • For contemplation, the space must have an area where our members can sit and ponder  
    • For team off-sites, the space must have areas set up for the team to collaborate effectively and to relax
  • strong and reliable wifi (except for contemplative escapes, where digital detox is encouraged!)
  • creative interiors, lovingly maintained by warm hosts

  • Our charges are simple – we simply ask for a service fee of 7.5% plus VAT for each booking we send you

What does a FLOWN host do?

As a FLOWN host, you’ll provide a space for our members to get away from their everyday environment; a space for them to be at their most inspired and productive while they work and think. 

You’ll set up your space so that our members can start fulfilling their trip purpose from the moment they arrive. We encourage you to support them on their creative or productive missions by creating a space of calm and inspiration.

How do I set my property up?

We guide our hosts in equipping their space to become the perfect environment for focused desk work, contemplative escapes, and/or team off-sites (depending on their property). For example:

  • For desk work, our members will need to provide a deskergonomic seating, and ideally a monitor
  • For a team off-sites, hosts will need to provide a whiteboard and a display screen

Our members will be able to search for properties which have certain equipment (such as a monitor or whiteboard), so the more items you provide, the more often and prominently you will appear in search results.

What are the next steps?

  1. Apply to be a host — we’ll be in touch for a chat shortly. For launch, we’re prioritising spaces in the UK, Spain and Portugal, but we’d still love to hear from you if your space is located somewhere else.
  2. Have a call with us  — If there is a fit, we’ll organise a call to get to know you better.
  3. Get set up with FLOWN — We’ll work with you to set up your space on the FLOWN website, including a virtual visit to your space, take professional photography, and collect other details.
  4. Start taking bookings  — FLOWN will launch publicly in early 2021, at which point you’ll start to host your first guests.
